Design Futures
April 2019

The Nổi means floating, a futuristic project in Mekong Delta during years 2500-2600. Transforming into a tourist attraction and provide a leisure entertainment center. A Multi-D Cinema, that breaks the limitations of the virtual and real-world. Bringing an amazing experience to the audience.

The design aims to transform the Mekong Delta into a tourist attraction. It also offers a comfortable lounge and entertainment area for the tourist. They can enjoy and appreciate the fun and convenience of future movies. They also can experience the movie in the future version. The target audience is tourists and millennials.

Prediction in year 2500-2600.
PREDICTION OF THE BUILDING
Through data collection, understand that gravity is gradually being destroyed, and obviously, the intensity of gravity is lower than before. Therefore, in the next 400-600 years of possible construction, people do not need gravity, and it will be replaced by others.

However, indoor skydiving is the principle of anti-gravity. Why indoor skydiving is anti-gravity? The reason is that parachuting can remain in the air in the presence of gravity. It will not fall on the ground because of gravity. In today's technology, indoor skydiving can be using the wind to support a person's weight and let them float in the air. It is expected that after 400-600 years in the future, wind technology might reach to support a building.
PREDICTION OF THE TECHNOLOGY
According to the gradual development of technology, 9D has also been eliminated. In the future, it is not necessary to rely on VR Glasses to watch the movies, and instead use brain waves to watch or create their own movies. This brainwave movie was named MultiD (maybe?).

MultiD is the audience can directly feel the authenticity of the movie by walking into the cinema without relying on VR glasses. Not only do they get to enjoy the movie through only sight and hearing, but they also get to enjoy it even more with the addition of smell, touch, and movement to achieve a better experience for the viewer. The MultiD is like our virtual reality, viewers just need to sit on the seats, and then it will automatically bring u go into the world of the movies. It breaks the limits of the virtual and real-world to give the viewers an amazing experience.

It’s not just the way to watch movies. The ways of storing data will be evolving with technology as well. In the previous era, the storage method was to use a disk and an optical disk. Later invented USB pen drives, hard disk, and other hard drives. It can be found that the stored tools are getting smaller and lighter. So in the next 400-600 years, it is certain that there will be smaller storage methods, such as using a chip to store the data.
DESIGN CONCEPT (STRUCTURE OF THE LOTUS)
The design concept of the cinema is the structure of the lotus. Lotus is the national flower of Vietnam. Lotus is divided into several parts, which are flowers, seed, leaves, stems, and roots. I use the structure of the lotus to design the cinema.

DESIGN PROPOSE
To improve the tourism industry in Vietnam, I will design a special cinema for tourists and locals as well. Not only does it allow people to understand Vietnamese culture, but it also allows them to experience movies from different angles. In the next 400-600 years, it will be one of the reasons why people go to the cinema.
CINEMA A represents the tall lotus flowers that look like floats in the air.

This is the interior view of Cinema A. It is divided into two areas which are a movie experience zone and a memory preservation area. The seats in the cinema are stand-alone. The main purpose of it is to let customers enjoy movies without any interference. The seats in the cinema are uniquely designed, and each seat has its own brainwave equipment. These devices are connected to the customer's brains to let them use their mind to change the process and ending of the movie. It is equivalent to their being the director of their very own movie. The protagonist, supporting the role of the movie can be of their choice.

This is the machine that will place in Cinema A. A movie in customer consciousness is equivalent to being unique so for preservation of the memory, there is a corner provide for them to save their “Virtual Reality” in a chip. (Conscious) There is a built-in mechanism for producing chips. After the chip is completed, the robotic arm will automatically send it to the collection area, and the customer can then collect his own memory chips from there.
CINEMA B represents the lotus flowers and the leaves that float on the water.

This is the interior view of Cinema B. Cinema B’s seats are uniquely designed, and each has a connected brainwave device. These devices can connect to the brains of multiple customers at any given time. Customers can share a movie with other customers randomly through brainwaves.
This is an underwater cafe, It represents the roots of the lotus.

The natural curve cross around the cinema and the cafe have represented the stems of lotus flowers. The picture below is the interior view of the underwater cafe. This cafe mainly serves local Vietnamese specialties. Since the river is one of the characteristics of Vietnam, the underwater cafe allows them to feel the underwater environment while dining.
